Your group is based on your year of birth. Find your group below, then

General Information
Rules and guidelines that apply to every participant, in addition to the group syllabus.
Along with memorizing the banis, participants will answer 12 general knowledge questions and name the 5 Kakaars, 5 Takhts, 5 Piaare, 4 Sahibzaday and the 11 Gurus.
Groups 3-8 also complete a neat writing section in Gurmukhi.
Proper pronunciation, clear Punjabi communication, and a suitable Sikh dress code will earn extra points.
Top 5 marks in every category will be awarded a prize, and all participants will receive a certificate and participation prize.
Every group has two categories — Syllabus and Open — and each participant may compete in only one.
Syllabus participants are tested only on the banis listed for their group. Open participants may recite additional banis and shabads beyond the required syllabus.

CATEGORIES
Yes — during registration you’ll choose either Open or Syllabus.
Syllabus: participants are tested only on the banis listed for their group; extra bani or shabads won’t be heard.
Open: Participants are expected to know more than the required syllabus and may recite additional banis or shabads, but must still clear the syllabus with a minimum mark to win a prize.
PREPARATION
12 general knowledge questions, and the 5 Kakaars, 5 Takhts, 5 Pyare, 4 Sahibzade, and 11 Gurus.
You’ll receive the full syllabus package by email once registration is complete.
Groups 3–8. Participants should be able to copy a line written in Gurmukhi neatly and accurately.
Proper pronunciation, clear Punjabi speaking, and an appropriate Sikh attire.
PRIZES
Every participant receives a certificate and participation prize. Each category has 5 prizes, and those who arrive within their check-in window receive a door prize ticket.
DAY OF THE COMPETITION
Registration assigns a one-hour check-in slot between 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Arrive within that window.
You can still come and participate on the day. You’ll receive a participation prize but won’t be eligible for the top 5 prizes in your group.
5:00 PM in the main hall on the day of the competition.
A representative may collect your prize when your name is called, but prizes can’t be claimed later — if unclaimed, they go to the next person in line.
REGISTRATION
Registration closes once seats are full, even before the stated deadline.
Yes, but it’s not recommended — registering yourself ensures you receive the confirmation email and syllabus package directly.
